Mobulair was commissioned by an architectural surveyor to create a 3D model and orthoplanes of a building with structural damage using drone photogrammetry techniques.
Aerial site surveys are increasingly recognised as a cost-effective alternative to traditional scaffolding-based surveys. The value of aerial site surveys hinges on the technical expertise of the drone operator. They require ultra-precision flying at close quarters and are exceptionally technically challenging.
In this case, Mobulair completed a survey of the walls and roof in just 2 hours. We then used Pix4D and Photoscan software to develop a 3D model and orthoplanes. These were sufficiently precise to allow the surveyors and architects to proceed immediately with shoring up the building.
